Lessons Learned/Outcomes: In March, the Murray County Early Childhood Initiative sent out letters to area businesses asking them to be recognized as “Family Friendly Businesses.” Forty-eight businesses responded saying that they were interested in supporting the efforts of the Murray County Early Childhood Initiative. Some of these businesses chose to receive books, a vinyl cling and a certificate that reads “This Business Recognizes the Importance of Family. We encourage you to read to your children.” The 48 businesses break down as: 2 real estate 9 service 2 construction 2 manufacturing 8 retail 4 hospitality/restaurant 1 dance studio 2 behavioral sciences 9 medical 1 education 10 lending/financial
