Transportation Survey (10-06)

Date of Project: 10-2006

Name of Coalition: Grant County – Helping Us Grow

MIF: West Central Initiative,

Project Overview: Representatives from our local Early Childhood Coalition participated in a survey and the follow-up pubic input workshop to provide feedback on a transit coordination study. Background: the Minnesota Departments of Transportation and Human Services contracted with Regional Development Organizations across Minnesota this past summer to conduct a study on opportunities for coordination between public transit systems and human service transportation providers. In west central Minnesota, West Central Initiative (WCI) has been working on the project as an extension of WCI's regional transportation planning efforts. The public input workshop was an opportunity for the special needs of the early childhood population (parents, caregivers and child care providers) to be presented in a public forum.
