Project Overview: The Crookston ECI and Crookston Chamber of Commerce collaborated during OxCart Days, a community-wide celebration, to include children and families by organizing a Children’s Parade, Award Presentation (books for children), and Snack. The Parade Route was designed to go around the Villa St. Vincent, Care Facility for the elderly, to support intergenerational relationships.

Lessons Learned/Outcomes: Over 100 children took part in the Parade with their families and the residents of Villa St. Vincent looking on. Children and families were treated to a snack, and went home with a new book to enjoy. All participants - children, parents, and Villa St. Vincent residents - were given the opportunity to be involved in a celebration designed to bring the community together.
